Glad you tried Xubuntu. I have been using it since Fiesty, and it is WAY better in Hardy. I would give it a try again if you have the spare HDD space or would like help establishing a quick setup, I would be happy to share my partitioning and tweaking knowledge if you or any of your friends are so(Xfce)inclined.

I do have to say, about Kubuntu, and KDE, that KDE4 is quite handsome.

That said, I prefer Xfwm4's rather sedate compositing window manager to Beryl or Compiz Fusion. I also rather like Xfce's look with the GTK+ Widget set.

Since you're on an *Ubuntu flavour, I'll reccomend you look into this article on establishing a system-wide multiband equalizer via a LADSPA plugin called "mbeq".

You can find the UbuntuForums thread here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578

And I gotta tell ya, I have a 2 speaker setup (A pair of Sony's from a High End Trinitron Set (I know, I know, weird choice, but they sound good and I'm a broke Audiophile, hehehe try COWON iAudio)) and I have now heard the CLEANEST, most SEPERATED Audio Nirvana I've ever heard, and that's saying a lot cuz I used to go to dance parties and was a SpeakerWhore who's since moved on to stuff like Headroom, COWON, V-Moda Bass Freq, Grado, Etymotic, Yuin, Etc, Etc.

Just liked your site from a random Google search and had to share. Visit amot.wordpress.com for some randumb tidbits that may interest you.

Best,
flacvest

Re: From Kubuntu to Xubuntu

ERRR??? dude...i did not understand a WORD of what you just said! speak english, not geek-talk! :P
